Messing around with house staging and a new design board.

I found this new website Olioboard.com. It is most amazing. You can design any room you can imagine minus the walls. Actually, you can probably do those but I have not discovered that yet. Here is an example. I kinda went crazy with the accessories options but I could not decide between going all neutral with different metallics or doing a deep jewel tone option. So I did both. Sigh, I would love to have access to these items to stage but I doubt I will. So this is more of a "feel" and "look" board then an actual "use these exact items" board.

The Beginning

My husband and I just got back from a fantastic vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming(pictures to follow). I had never been there before but I had a great time. We were super busy before we left I had no time to do anything, so today has been spent relaxing,cleaning,organizing and now posting some of the great look-a-likes I have found recently for items I love.
As a general rule, I love Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel, but I do not like their prices. So, I have made a fun game for myself to try to find lookalikes for those items I am particularly fond of for a much more friendly price tag.


The above photo is from www.potterybarn.com. The below photo I took with my cell phone when I stumbled upon the same type of Bombay style chest, which I just love, at Home Goods a few weeks ago. Its 199.99!!! Savings of 400$. What a steel compared to the lovely PB version. I would probably re-paint it or stain it and shine up the handles or replace(I think they are brass or silver or something). The best thing about this chest is that it has such character and can be used for so many things in every room of the house. *Sigh*


Here is another one that I found. It is just a little desk that I think is cute. Top one is again Pottery Barn and the second one is from www.cymaxstores.com.


Its a savings of 200$. So tell me what you think are these good or not close enough?
